Shakira denies Playboy photo shoot: men everywhere stop rejoicing

by Rosemary Westwood May 24, 2012

Shakira

Any excitement caused by news that Shakira might appear in the men’s magazine Playboy has been squashed by a tweet from the Colombian pop icon.

“Absolutely untrue. But get used to it guys, u know that every week they make up something new ;),” she wrote, in response to the tweeted question, “Shakira in Playboy?”

Speculation that Shakira was in talks with the magazine’s editors about doing a scantily-clad shoot surfaced on Tuesday.

Shakira’s twitter account has become a regular venue for the singer to deny media gossip, including reports that she had purchased a home near Barcelona with boyfriend and Spanish soccer player Gerard Pique.

She has also used the social media site to deny recent reports of a couple’s spat, after which Pique used his twitter account to post a happy photo of the pair.
