Shakira wins big at the 2012 Latin Billboard Music Awards

Colombian superstars Shakira and Juanes rocked the 2012 Latin Billboard Awards Thursday in Miami.

This year’s Latin Billboard Music Awards, which was presented at the University of Miami’s Bank United Center, kicked off with a grand opening by Pitbull and the hit song “Party Rock Anthem” by LMFAO.

With eight awards each, Don Omar and Prince Royce were the big winners at this year’s annual celebration of Latin music.

One of the most anticipated events of the night was Colombian rocker Juanes’ performance of his new hit single “The Sign,” and his rendition of the world famous “Me Enamora” (You are in love with me).

Shakira was nominated for ten awards and took home four including Female Artist of the Year, Female Artist Album of the Year, “Latin Pop” Solo Performer of the Year, and Artist of the Year of Social Networks.

The night finished with Brazilian artist Michel Telo performing his smash hit “Ai se eu te pego (I will catch you).”
