Shakira up for 13 Latin American Billboard Awards

Colombian superstar Shakira had the second-highest number of nominations in the Billboard Latin Music Awards, with her name up for 13 separate prizes Telemundo reported Thursday.

Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias beat the Barranquilla-born temptress with 14 nominations, while Shakira was trailed by the Mexican trio Camila with 10 nominations.

Her 13 nominations are for categories including “Latin Artist of the Year,” “Hot Latin Song of the Year,” “Hot Latin Female Artist of the Year,” “Crossover Artist of the Year,” “Top Latin Album of the Year,” “Latin Pop Airplay Artist of the Year” among others.

The Colombian superstar has enjoyed a successful year in 2010 with her hit album “Sale el Sol” (“The Sun Rises”) and her song “Waka Waka” designated as the official song of the World Cup.

The awards ceremony will take place on April 28 in Miami.
