Reggae superstar Beenie Man headlining festival in Colombia’s capital

Jamaican Reggae superstar Beenie Man will be headlining  the annual Jamming Festival, a celebration of Jamaican culture with live reggae music performances, arts and sports events.

Jamming Festival will be held in Bogota from Saturday May 31 to Sunday June 1. The festival is now in its third year, and will seek to promote an atmosphere of “One Love,” the festival’s tagline, when it takes place the last weekend of May in Parque Deportivo Autopista Norte, Bogota.

According to the festival website, a variation of performances will be on offer, including circus performances, storytellers, art exhibitions, films and documentaries, as well as lectures on the history of African music and the “One Love” culture.

Of the 34 acts that will grace the stage, a number of international artists will perform, such as Beenie Man, the Grammy award-winning Jamaican reggae artist, the reggae harmony group Israel Vibration and Mr Vegas, a Jamaican dancehall star.

Tickets can be purchased in Bogota, Medellin, Cali, Manizales and Bucaramanga for a price of $50. A special fleet of buses will be making return trips to the Jamming Festival site from the Exito supermarket on Autopista Norte.
