Four days after Shakira announced the end of her engagement to Antonio de la Rua, Univision has published photos claiming to prove that he was unfaithful. The images, taken between 2007 and 2008, depict the Argentine in compromising situations with unknown women.
The various photos capture him dancing intimately with various women, and in one photo a woman is perched on his lap with her arm around his shoulder.
Shakira’s representatives allegedly had attempted to buy these photos in order to prevent their public circulation and thus avoid scandal. The revelation, however, does seem to confirm some of the various rumours of de la Rua’s infidelity during their 11 years together.
The Barranquilla native announced the end of the relationship to her followers on her official website, explaining that he will continue to work as her representative. She made special note of their “unwavering and indestructible” friendship and understanding.
Shakira’s new album “Sale el Sol” and new single “Loca” were both recently released.
