Online game imitates dog invasion of soccer match

by Natalie Dalton October 27, 2011

colombia news - soccer game dog

A Brazilian website has made a video game out of Wednesday’s soccer game fiasco, where a dog invaded the match between Colombia’s Santa Fe team and Brazil’s Botafogo in the Copa Sudamerica 2011.

“El Juego del Cachorro Loco,” on Globo.com, replicates the canny canine’s attempt to evade soccer players from both the teams on the field.

With both Santa Fe and Botafogo players on the case, the user takes on the role of the dog in its epic escapade.

The goal of the game is to spend as much time as possible without being trapped.

The background music to the online game is none other than a “Who Let the Dogs Out” remix originally by Baha Men.

In real life, after one of the most successful field invasions of the year, the soccer-fanatic dog made his way off the field and into the stands on its own accord.

And, despite the distraction, Santa Fe won the match against Botafogo after dominating throughout the game.
