Colombian soccer team Once Caldas were beaten 1-0 away to Brazilian club Internacional in the first leg of the first stage of the Copa Libertadores Wednesday.

The only goal of the game came in the 11th minute and was scored by Leandro Damiao, who has been linked with a big money move to Europe.

The defeat means that Caldas must now win at home next Wednesday if they are to secure passage to the group stage of the South American tournament.

The team which progresses will enter Group One and faces Santos (Brazil), Juan Aurich (Peru) and The Strongest (Bolivia).

Caldas are the last Colombian soccer team to have claimed a continental title, having won the Copa Libertadores in 2004.
