Two women working on an oil pipeline in northeastern Colombia have been kidnapped, local media reported Tuesday.
Gunmen seized Elida Alfonso, a community radio show host, and Gina Uribe, an environmental engineer, from their homes in Saravena in the northeastern department of Arauca.
Alfonso and Uribe had been working on the Colombian Bicentennial Pipeline, expected to be the longest oil pipeline in Colombia running between the eastern department of Casanare to the Caribbean port of Coveñas.
The army has dispatched units to locate the women and arrest their kidnappers, military officials said.
