Colombia news - boat rescue

Thirty three people were rescued Sunday in the Pacific Ocean after their boat suffered mechanical failures, media reported.

Colombia’s Navy made the rescue after receiving a report that 26 adults and seven children had been left adrift on the route between Jurado and Buenaventura.

A spokesperson for the navy stated that the rescue of the boat, named “Correo del Pacifico,” had to be made as a result of “mechanical failures that caused the boat to lose propulsion and so become adrift.”

One of the passengers had to receive minor medical attention at a Naval hospital on land.
