Medellin’s mayor presents the 2011 Youth Awards

Medellin‘s mayor awarded 15 locals the 2011 Youth Award on Thursday night.

The event was a part of Medellin’s Youth Week 2011.

The winners were chosen from 5 categories: sports and recreation, entrepreneurship, knowledge and investigation, arts and culture, and community service.

Mayor Alonso Salazar Jaramillo told the 15 recipients that the city is committed to their development and growth.

“I hope that the winners will pursue their passions in life. The city values you immensely, and we want to continue to strengthen theses qualities, and make Medellin unstoppable.”

The first-place winner of the sports and recreation category also recieved a full college scholarship to San Buenaventura University.
