The second International Congress of Theater Studies is set to kick off May 16 on stages throughout Medellin.

The three-day event hosted by the University of Antioquia will feature presentations, discussions, plays and workshops by professors, professionals and students in the field of performance art, drama and stage history.

Over 16 international performance experts from Argentina, Brazil, the U.S., England and Mexico will speak throughout the day. 29 Colombian speakers will also lend their expertise to the event.

Daytime events will be held either at the Alfonso Restrepo Moreno Auditorium (Comfama San Ignacio Building) or at Medellin’s EPM library.

Attendees can catch nighttime performances featuring the work of Colombian performance groups in theaters throughout the city.

For additional information on presenters and a full schedule of events visit the Congress’ website.
