Medellin is preparing for the highly anticipated arrival of Madonna for next week’s concerts, with reports that 98% of the city’s hotel rooms are full.
The 60,000 concert-goers have spent almost $1 million on airline tickets and tickets to see the pointy-breasted queen of pop, according to newspaper El Colombiano.
Andrea Lopez the city’s project manager for the upcoming concert said that on average people will spend $140, with the city expecting to see around $4.5 million flooding in.
Special buses will be available to take fans to Atanasio Giradot stadium on Thursday and Friday between 2.30PM and 6.30PM which will be free of charge on presentation of a concert ticket. The city’s metro has also joined the campaign with the sale of 15,000 commemorative tickets which are good for two journeys.
