Medellin’s Flower Festival, the city’s most important cultural event of the year, has a number of recommended activities scheduled for the weekend.

Friday

  • Orchid, birds, and flowers exhibition
    8AM – 8PM — Botanical garden
  • Neighborhood concert (with La Tartana, Fractal Teatro, Son Bata, Grupo Nueva Gente,Anchoa, Sociedad FB7, and Frene sí Orquestra)
    3PM – 10PM — Cancha La Frontera, Playón de los Comuneros, calle 119 con carrera 51
  • Concerts sponsored by Aguardiente Antioqueño y Ron Medellín Añejo (with Topicombo, Ismael Miranda, Son de Cali, and J. Balvin)
    6PM – 1AM — Cancha Campo Amor

Saturday

  • Orchid, birds, and flowers exhibition
    8AM – 8PM — Botanical garden
  • Sanalejo market
    8AM -6PM — Parque Bolivar
  • Parade of classic and old cars
    10:30AM – ?? — MAPS PLEASE
  • Concert sponsored by Pilsen (with Piso 21, Laberinto, and Artista de Altavoz)
    4PM – 12PM — Parque de Los Deseos
  • Neighborhood concert (with La Polilla, Oriental Fusion, El Mago Naul, Trio America, Los Hermanos del Vallenato, Guillermo Puerta, and Los de la Noche)
    3PM – 10PM — Corregimiento de Altavista, Casa de Gobierno
  • Tropical music night in the park (with Tropico Big Band and Sonora Tropico)

  • Parade of the martial bands in La Floresta
    3PM — Begins on Puente de Guayaquil Avenida del Rio, then through San Juan, Avenida el Ferrocarril, Plaza Mayor, and ending in Palacio de Exposiciones
