Colombian tennis player Mariana Duque has advanced to the main draw of the Swiss Open following Monday’s win over the French player Irena Pavlovic.

The Colombian secured her place in the final 32 of the tournament by beating Pavlovic 6-2 6-4.

Duque won her first qualifying match at the tournament last Saturday, beating the Italian Guiada Clerici 6-1, 6-1.

In the first round of the main draw, Duque will face Dutch player Bibianne Schoofs as she takes one step closer to the tournament’s $25,000 prize.

Another Colombian, Catalina Castano, from the same Bogota based training camp as Duque, will also feature in the Swiss Open’s final 32. She will play the Ukranian Maria Koryttseva on Tuesday.
