Pop star Lady Gaga will come to the Colombia at the end of the year, a local event company announced Tuesday.
The decision to bring Gaga is the result of Colombia’s strong determination to invest in entertainment, a spokesman for the event company said. “We are deciding what goes where and when. It would be later this year. In the coming weeks we will be given the exact date,” he told reporters.
Lady Gaga rose to stardom following the release of her debut album “The Fame” in 2008, which was a critical and commercial success that topped charts around the world and included the international number-one singles “Just Dance” and “Poker Face.”
Gaga is known for her flamboyant, diverse and unconventional contributions to the music industry through her fashion, performances and music videos. She has sold an estimated 23 million albums and 64 million singles worldwide, making her one of the best-selling music artists of all time.
2012 is an exciting year for Colombian entertainment. Madonna is scheduled to play in Medellin on November 28 after tickets sold out in less than a week.
