Colombian striker Juan Pablo Angel has moved from the L.A. Galaxy to their crosstown rivals Chivas USA, newspaper El Tiempo reported Tuesday.

According to reports, Angel was shipped out to make room for Irish striker Robbie Keane, the L.A. Galaxy’s newest foriegn star.

Angel has struggled in his first season with the Galaxy, scoring only three goals in 22 games. He had previously averaged more than 14 goals per season in his four seasons with the New York Red Bulls.

“I feel really well right now… It’s just that I can’t buy a goal right now. I feel like I’ve been playing better, but at the end of the day you get judged by goals,” the Colombian striker told reporters in late July.

“The Galaxy concluded that they wanted to win a championship, and they were looking for someone who could help them do so. My results do not speak well of me, they were not what I or they expected, and if the results are not there, one becomes disposable. This time it was my turn,” said Angel.

Angel remains optimistic about his future with the Carson team.

“I wish to give a good end of the season and to help Chivas USA to qualify for the playoffs. It is a challenge I accept with excitement and desire,” said Angel.
