Juanes to release English songs on new album

by Tara Morris February 14, 2013

Juanes

Straight off the high of winning a Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album, Colombian singer Juanes announced Thursday that his next album will include songs in English.

Upon his recent win at the Grammy Awards, the singer announced that he intends to have 3 or 4 songs in English on his new album.

“I don’t have in mind to do the whole album in English nor is it something that interests me right now, but I want to try to [include songs in English] because I am more fluent with the language,” he explained.

The 19-time Latin Grammy winner, said that he naturally writes his songs in Spanish and works with people to help him translate and adapt the lyrics.

His latest, “Loud & Unplugged” tour of the United States and Canada starts May 17 in Bakersfield, California and ends on June 30 in Tampa, Florida. To see if Juanes is coming to a city near you, just visit his tour website.
