Voting started Wednesday for the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, which nominated Colombian singer Juanes for “Best Latin Artist.”
The Colombian singer competes against Jennifer Lopez, Wisin & Yandel, Romeo and Pitbull for Best Latin Artist, a category that has been in existence in these particular music awards since 2010.
The public voting will last until September 5. The winner that has the most votes will be announced during the airing of the music awards September 6, and will be shown on Colombian channels September 15.
“I am very excited to be nominated along with these renowned artists,” Juanes was quoted as saying by Colombian press.
