by Teresa Welsh November 15, 2010

Colombia news - Angelica Ramirez

Colombian journalist and television presenter Angelica Ramirez was arrested in the Huila department Monday on suspicion of links with the FARC, reports CM&.

Ramirez, one of the area’s most recognized presenters, was arrested by police in Nevia. Huila police commander Colonel Flabio Mesa said police had been following Ramirez for nearly six months, and have collected evidence that she maintains ties with the guerrilla group.

“We have linked her to two intentions of terrorist actions in the commercial sector,” Mesa said.

Ramirez was brought to a jail in Nevia and awaits a hearing with a guarantee judge.
