J-Lo and Marc Anthony bring talent search to Colombia

by Toni Peters June 2, 2011

Star-studded power couple Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez will bring auditions for their television talent search “Q’Viva! The Chosen” to Colombia July, local media reported Thursday.

Between mid-July and the end of August the celebrity couple will visit  Colombia and other Spanish speaking countries as well as Brazil, the U.S. and Aruba in search of talented Latin artists and performers for the show, according to El Espectador.

“Very soon the heart of the world will beat to the sound of Latin rhythms and we are very excited to be part of this experience and be able to make history,” said the couple.

Singers, dancers, musicians and artists can upload their audition tapes through qvivathechosen.com, and the public will be able to nominate the best undiscovered talent from each country through Facebook. The tapes will be reviewed every week and lay the ground for the visits from Marc and Jennifer.

“It truly makes us proud to be part of this wonderful and very personal journey and mission to discover and celebrate the most mesmerising talent the world has ever seen,” the couple added.

“Q’Viva! The Chosen” will be recorded in English, Spanish and Portuguese and will be broadcast simultaneously in the throughout South America.

“This is like me being able to go ‘I am Latina and this is who we are’. Isn’t it fabulous,” said J-Lo.

The program is being made with the support of mega concert producer Jamie King and American Idol creator Simon Fuller.
