An investigation into an alleged FARC attack that killed 11 Colombian soldiers was launched by the country’s Prosecutor General’s office Tuesday.
The ambush, which took place near the Venezuelan border Saturday, has led investigators to question the survivors for any evidence of tactical error. The results of the investigation are not expected for at least four months.
The search continues in the border municipality of Arauquita for the perpetrators of the attack.
Earlier Tuesday three alleged FARC members were killed and four captured as part of military operations responding to Saturday’s attack.
