Hosts of The Voice, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine, exchanged ‘witty’ banter about what they hoped to learn from Shakira as their new co-host, including the Portuguese language and ‘mango’ dancing…tango dancing?
After being asked what he believed he could learn from Shakira, Blake Shelton responded by saying, “I think that I can learn to speak…what is it called…Portuguese.”
Portuguese, of course, is not Shakira’s native language, although she does speak it fluently.
Levine’s response to that same question was no less inaccurate, and he said that he hoped to learn “the mango.” Blake fired back by saying “you know that’s a fruit.”
Blake Shelton’s final words of wisdom were for his future co-host to “shut the hell up and let the people who know what they’re doing here do their own jobs.”
Well with that attitude Mr. Shelton won’t be learning Portuguese anytime soon.
Shakira will also be joined by Usher as the new co-hosts, who will be replacing the previous hosts Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera for the new season of the hit U.S. television show The Voice, which begins on March 25.
