Colombia’s trade minister says the national flower, meat and fruit sectors will benefit the most from the free trade agreement with South Korea, in an interview with W Radio Friday.
With the trade deal, 99% of flower, fruit and meat exports will not have tariffs to enter the Asian country, according to Sergio Diaz-Granados.
The minister said “Colombia needs more markets where the rules of the game are stable and so we have got our eye on the [South] Korean market; it is a big importer of food.”
Diaz-Granados also said an agreement was made to provide “maximum” protection to the Colombian sectors which manufacture electro domestics and automobiles, declaring “The negotiation left both parties satisfied.”
