This comes after former Senator Piedad Cordoba stated that the coordinates have been provided and military operations in the designated area were ceased Tuesday at 9PM.
The only element that could stop the mission now is the weather. However, Pizarro has said that the weather is excellent for the liberation process and that the operation will go ahead.
Cordoba made her first public statement on Tuesday evening since Sunday’s failed hostage released. She maintained her commitment to all future release efforts but contradicted the government’s claim that the FARC were to blame for Sunday’s failure.
Furthermore, on Wednesday morning the FARC released their first statement since the incident, refuting the government’s claims while also stating they would hold an investigation into what really took place.
