Colombian striker Radamel Falcao passed medical examination, which will enable him to accept a $77.25 million deal with Monaco.
Radamel Falcao is reportedly on the verge of transferring from Spanish team Atletico Madrid to the less prestigious Monaco, quashing earlier rumors that said a move to Manchester United or Chelsea could be on the cards.
Monaco’s assistant coach, Jean Petit, confirmed the ongoing negotiations on RCM radio on Friday.
“Yes, we are expecting Falcao and four or five other players of his quality. […] We hope to seal a deal as soon as possible,” clarified Petit.
During two years with Atletico, which he described as “a dream”, Falcao helped to win the Europa League, the European Super Cup and the Copa del Rey.
Monaco were recently promoted to France’s Ligue 1 after winning the second division. The team’s president, Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev, has made some hefty investments in preparation for the forth-coming season and recruited the former Porto players Joao Moutinho and James Rodriguez for a total of $90.38 million.
