Falcao’s rumored transfer to Real Madrid resurfaces

by Christoffer Frendesen August 27, 2014

Rumors of Colombia’s Radamel Falcao transferring to Spanish soccer giant, Real Madrid, have been renewed throughout the sporting world.

Despite Real Madrid’s coach stating that the club is not looking for more investments this season, Falcao could be playing in a brand new Madrid shirt this season due to the sale of Angel Di Maria, according to Bleacher Report.

Real Madrid might seek to strengthen their already strong offense by spending their $98.94 million profit earned from the Argentina Di Maria transfer to invest in Falcao.

Falcao’s agent, Jorge Mendez, is rumored to meet with the Colombian’s current team AS Monaco’s to discuss an agreement making it possible  to close a deal with the top clubs interested.

Aside from Real Madrid, Italian team Juventus is still rumored to be looking to sign Colombian star on a loan contract, according to British news site Daily Mail.

British Arsenal could also be joining the list of teams attracted to loaning Falcao, subsequently to fill in for injured Arsenal striker Oliver Giroud’s acquisition on Saturday, British The Telegraph reported.

Liverpool, who was reportedly interested in Falcao, announced the addition of Italian Mario Balotelli to their roster. The British club, which surprised last season with their deadly offense, will probably not be looking to spend more money this season.

The player in center of attention downplayed the possibility of leaving his French club, insisting that he wished to stay, despite rumors whispering of his desperation to leave, international sports site Goal.com wrote.

“I’m happy here and I hope to stay,” said Falcao.

The rumors of a transfer is coming to an end since the transfer window closes on September 1.

The Colombian striker is well known for his ability to bomb the opposing team’s keeper with deadly shots.

Should he end up with Real Madrid, Falcao will join his national teammate, who recently scored his first goal in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup match that ended in a tie.
