Extradited drug lord sentenced to 15 years in Spain

by Brandon Barrett July 20, 2012

A drug lord linked to the criminal group, the Rastrojos, was sentenced to 15 years in a Spanish prison Friday on drug trafficking charges.

Leonardo Davolos Jimenez, suspected of running the “Señors del Acido” drug ring was convicted by a Madrid judge on drug trafficking and conspiracy charges.

His drug trafficking outfit is thought to be involved in debt collection, extortion and assasination for the Colombian crime organization, the Rastrojos, in Spain.

In May, Davolos faced charges for ordering the 2007 murder of Jose Fernando D.S., who allegedly owed the group money and was found dismembered and covered in acid. He was acquitted of the charges for a lack of evidence.

He was extradited to Spain in 2009.
