Ex-Guayacan Orquesta singer commits suicide

An ex-vocalist from the Colombian salsa band Guayacan Orquesta, Jairo Ruiz, has commited suicide at his home in Veracruz, Mexico, reports El Tiempo.

Ruiz hanged himself and was discovered by his wife, who he leaves behind with one daughter .

According to reports, it appears that the ex-singer was suffering from depression following the death of his mother three months ago and was experiencing financial difficulties due to his unemployment.

Ruiz was one of Guayacan Orquesta’s first singers, recording hits such as “Winter in Spring,” and “Every Day that Passes.”
