Bogota

‘Queen’ to appear on Bogota stage

by Başak Çopuroğlu January 23, 2012

Colombia Events - dr. queen

Dr Queen, considered one of the best Queen tribute bands in the world, will perform in Bogota next month.

The Argentinian band, a group of former doctors who came together as a result of their shared passion for the British rock icons, will play two dates at the Colsubsidio Roberto Arias Perez Theater.

They are led by Jorge Busseto, a Freddie Mercury fanatic who bears an uncanny resemblance to his idol. He left the medical profession to set up the band ten years ago.

Scores of tribute bands have emerged since the death of the charismatic Mercury in 1991. Dr Queen, who have played more than 470 shows in the U.S. and Europe. are considered one of the best, according to Plan B magazine.

The band never repeats the same show twice, performing Queen classics with large choirs, artists and dancers, changing costumes up to 15 times.

For more information or to buy tickets for the February 17 and 18 shows, visit http://www.colsubsidio.com.
