Disgraced Colombian coach returns to soccer

by Arron Daugherty February 13, 2012

Gomez

Disgraced Colombian soccer coach Hernan Dario “El Bolillo,” Gomez will coach top division Colombian side Deportivo Independiente Medellin, reported Radio Caracol Sunday.

Gomez was the coach of Colombia’s national soccer team, Seleccion Colombia, until he hit a woman in a bar last year.

In the aftermath of the scandal the coach separated from his wife and permanently resigned from Seleccion Colombia.

Deportivo Independiente Medellin, currently 14th in the Primera A Division after three games, will be the first team Gomez has coached since the incident.
