by Jonathan Roorda December 13, 2010

Colombia news - Tolima

Deportes Tolima join Once Caldas in the final of the Liga Postobon after a last-gasp winner at Santa Fe on Sunday.

Santa Fe hosted Tolima in Bogota with the target of earning at least a draw in order to qualify for the final of Colombia’s top league.

The home side missed a number of chances in the first half and allowed Tolima to gain strengh after the break. In the 89th minute, Wilder Medina struck the ball over keeper Julio from about 25 meters, to hand the visiting side a spot in the final.

In the other Group A game, Atletico Huila beat La Equidad 2-1 to finish third.

Once Caldas took a breather ahead of the final, suffering a 2-1 defeat at Cucuta Deportivo. The match between Deportes Quindio and Atletico Nacional ended in a 2-1 win to the visitors.

The first leg of the final will take place in Tolima’s capital city Ibague on Wednesday, December 15th. Four days later, the return leg will be played in Manizales.
