Most foreign visitors to Colombia have experienced the long queues to get through immigration at Bogota’s El Dorado Airport, but that could be a thing of the past now security agency DAS has announced plans to make the process go faster.
Following complaints from foreign visitors of long lines at immigration, DAS Director Felipe Muñoz said that the agency will implement seven steps to ease congestion and ensure a smoother passage through the system for arrivals, reports W Radio.
Service windows will be increased to 32 from the current 26, and the immigration area will be doubled in size to 600 square meters.
Additional staff will be stationed along the route from the gate to immigration to inform arriving passengers on what they need to do and where to go.
DAS has also made arrangements with the travel agent organization, Anato, to exchange information in order to further expedite the process of entering Colombia.
