Avianca-Taca to start daily direct Bogota-London flights

by Toni Peters November 22, 2011

London

Colombia’s President Juan Manuel Santos has announced that national carrier Avianca-Taca will begin to fly daily between Bogota and London, economic magazine Dinero reported Tuesday.

The Colombian head of state said that he was informed by the owner of Avianca-Taca, who is awaiting permission. “This is good news, and it is going to happen,” President Santos said.

The Colombian ambassador in London, Mauricio Rodriguez, said the process will take between six and nine months.

President Santos made the announcement while addressing Colombians residing in the United Kingdom during his state visit to the country.
