Colombian superstar Juanes is offering one fan the chance to sing with him on an MTV Unplugged album next year.

The rock legend, who has sold more than 12 million albums and won 17 Latin Grammys, has opened a contest to win the chance to duet with him while he records an unplugged session in February in Miami Beach, Florida.

The MTV session will be released as an album later that year.

Aspiring fans must submit recorded interpretations of one of Juanes’ hits, said the artist in joint statement with a cable TV channel aimed at Latino youth, Tr3s: MTV, Musica y Mas.

Each week between now and January 9 the entries will be judged by other fans on the website to the the website juanes.tr3s.com, before the final selection is made by the rocker himself.

Charlie Singer, senior vice-president of content and creativity at Tr3s, said, “Juanes has an tremendous amount of fans and we are excited that one of them is going to get to sing (…) in this legendary Unplugged [album].”
