Santos congratulates Colombia’s medal winning swimmer

Colombian president Juan Manuel Santos congratulated the swimmer Moises Fuentes for his silver medal win in the London paralympics on Tuesday.

“This silver medal raises the name of the country very high again. It gladdens all the hearts,” said the president to Fuentes during a telephone conversation on Tuesday.

Santos highlighted the success of Fuentes who won the silver medal for the 100 meter breaststroke, and extended congratulations to other athletes in the contest.

“You are an example to the whole country. Thank you very much. This is a great triumph and a great contribution to the enthusiasm and psychology of Colombia,” said the president.

For his part Moises Fuentes said he appreciated the support he has received from the country for his participation in the London competition.
