Colombian soccer player Pajoy joins US side Philadelphia Union

by Charles Parkinson February 9, 2012

Colombia News - Lionard Paroy

Colombian soccer player Lionard Pajoy has joined MLS side Philadelphia Union, as reported on the team’s official website Wednesday.

The 30-year-old striker joins from Colombian Primera A side Itagui Ditaires, where he scored 13 goals in 27 starts last season, as the team finished 11th in the top division.

Philadelphia Union head of scouting and player development Diego Gutierrez said, “He’s not your typical target player, though he does play with his back to the goal quite well. He also has a lot of skill on the ball, so he’s able to do a lot of things.”

Pajoy has become the third Colombian player at the team, joining Roger Torres and Union vice-captain Carlos Valdez.
