The Colombian national futsal team is through to the final of the AMF Futsal World Cup after beating Argentina 3-2 in Wednesday’s semi final.
The match, played in Bello, Antioquia, took a while to see its first goal but Colombia finally broke the deadlock through Jhon Pinilla in the 18th minute.
And the tournament hosts doubled their lead in the 10th minute of the second half, as Andres Murillo did well to beat a defender and the goalkeeper for a 2-0 lead.
But Argentina showed that nothing is certain in futsal, and pulled one back from a free kick in the 15th minute of the second half. Less than a minute later, Nestor Engrinal leveled the score on the rebound after the ball had come back from the crossbar.
Colombia remained focused however, and Murillo scored the winning goal from close range with just over two minutes left to play. In the remainder of the match, the Colombians kept their Argentinean opponents from scoring another equaliser.
Colombia now face either Paraguay or Russia in the final, which is to be played in Bogota on March 26th.
