Colombian cyclists swept the four top places in Brazil’s Tour de Rio de Janeiro Sunday, Radio Caracol reported Sunday.
Juan Pablo Suarez cycled to victory in the race, closely followed by his three teammates as Colombia maintained its title as the best team in the race.
Suarez was followed by Jaime Castanada by 27 seconds, Edward Beltran by 37 seconds, and Javier Gomez by 50 seconds. Brazilian Antonio Nascimento finished behind the Colombians at 58 seconds behind the leader.
The tournament was marred only by the removal of an Italian racer for using a racial slur against a member of the Brazilian team.
