Colombian businessmen requested Colombian authorities to construct a port at a whale watch site on the western Colombian Pacific coast.
According to Caracol TV, an association of businessmen from the department of Valle proposed the building of a new port because they think the Port of Buenaventura will soon fail to harbor the increased number of incoming ships as the country’s foreign trade grows.
The port would be located at the Malaga Bay, a place visited yearly by hoards of humpback whales coming from the Antarctic region.
