Colombia’s BMX champion Mariana Pajon added two more major titles to her collection at the weekend, winning both the North American Championship and Gator Nationals UCI competition, in Oldsmar, Florida.

20-year-old Pajon, who boasts 13 World Championships, 2 United States Championships, 9 Latin American Championships and 10 Pan American Championships, among other awards, is considered possibly the best female BMX rider in the world at the moment.

Her spokesperson Germain Medina said after the latest victories, “We are satisfied, the objectives have been met, not only for the titles, but because the idea is that Mariana keeps pace with competition from a number of rivals she will come up against in the London Olympics.”

Pajon will be a major gold medal prospect when she competes for Team Colombia in the London 2012 Olympics, to be held in July and August.
