The Colombian ambassador in Russia, Rafael Amador, left his position Wednesday after accusations surfaced accusing him of sexual abuse of minors.
Amardor told Caracol Radio that the accusations are false and that behind them lie hidden political motivations by groups who want to take his position as ambassador.
“I am going to Bogota to take responsibility for my conduct and to reject all that has been said against me,” said Amardor in an interview with BluRadio.
The is the second problem the Colombian Foreign Ministry has run across in the past year after a representative of the Colombian Consulate in the United States attacked a taxi driver in February.
Armador, a lawyer and economist who has also served in both chambers of congress, was named as Colombian Ambassador to Russia in 2011. He is also founder and director of the Center on Neo-liberal Studies.
