Colombian accent sexes up language stats

by Natalie Dalton September 19, 2011

colombia news - sexy accent

Backpacker’s bible the Lonely Planet asked readers what the world’s sexiest accent is in February, and responses citing the downright arousing Colombian accent boosted Spanish to the top of the charts.

Out of a survey of 700 participants Spanish came in first, followed closely by the flirtatious French accent – Oh la la – and the inviting, if sometimes slurred, Irish accent.

The survey can in no way be considered statistically significant, or representative of any population, but it’s nice to know that Spanish is still the spiciest, sexiest, and most sensuous of international accents, in some people’s minds.

Lamentably, English came in 7th on the list and was beat out by Scottish, Australian, and Italian accents. Canada was nowhere to be found on the charts, now what’s that aboot?
