Colombia reportedly recorded a record rate of oil production in January.
According to local media, Colombia produced over 1 million barrels of oil per day on average in January of 2013.
In December of 2012, production nearly touched the one million mark at 984,000 barrels per day. Attacks on oil infrastructure from left-wing insurgents, however, purportedly caused production to fall below its potential in many parts of the country.
Yet Colombia has experienced steady growth in investor confidence regarding its energy sector, registering $13.12 billion in foreign investment in 2012.
