Colombia’s Supreme Court closed its investigation Wednesday against congresswoman Lucero Cortes for allegedly trying to influence a judge.
Cortes’ faith that justice system would ultimately prover her innocence came true when the Criminal Chamber of the High Court found no evidence linking her to allegedly paying-off judges of the Constitutional Court over a case against her husband, businessman Manuel Rincon Guevara.
The complaint against Cortes was lodged by a lawyer that worked with her husband who said she had paid $78,000 favoring her husband.
The congresswoman had been under house arrest since late April prior to the ruling.
