Colombia News - ChocQuibTown

Colombian hip-hop fusion trio ChocQuibTown are to perform at the Copa America 2011 opening ceremony in Argentina July, reported magazine Farandula Wednesday.

The opening ceremony of the South American Soccer Championship is to take place at the Unico Stadium in the coastal city of La Plata on July 1.

The Latin Grammy award winning artists will perform the official song of the championship “Creo en America”  [I believe in America] with one of the song’s writers Diego Torres and his band, as well as Brazilian Ivete Sangalo.

The song’s lyrics speak of “America” referring to the continent as a whole, in which national differences are left behind. The song was recorded in Miami.
