by Travis Mannon September 28, 2011

Colombia News - Olympics 2012

Television network Caracol TV earned the rights to broadcast the London 2012 Winter Olympic Games in Colombia, international media publication World Screen reported Wednesday.

The International Olympic Committee awarded Caracol the terrestrial television and radio broadcast rights of the Winter Olympics as well as the Winter Youth Olympics.

“We look forward to continuing to work with Caracol Televisión. We believe they are well placed to provide great coverage of the London 2012 Olympic Games in Colombia, as well as offering coverage of the first ever Winter Youth Olympic Games,” IOC’s President Jacques Rogge was quoted as saying by World Screen.

President of Caracol Television Carlos Alejandro Perez Davila said his company is pleased to have the broadcast rights again. “The Olympic Movement and its ideals will be well represented through our first-rate coverage,” he said.
