Taxi drivers in the district capital city of Cali are learning basic English, French, and sign language in preparation of the Under-20 World Cup, reported newspaper El Tiempo on Thursday.
According to one Cali official in the tourism department, the drivers “also receive training in tourist service, neurolinguistics, basic language skills in English and French languages, sign language, first aid, mobility, orienteering and personal development, which are essential to provide good customer service and those who visit Cali for the World Cup U-20.”
A total of 700 drivers will take “civics classes” before the tournament begins on July 29.
