Colombian beach goddess, Miss San Andres, features in pop star Carlos Vives’ new video for “Como le gusta a tu cuerpo”, a duet with Brazilian musician Michel Telo.
The Colombian is currently promoting his latest album, “Deep Heart,” set to be released on April 21, however he was keen to emphasize that Miss San Andres’ starring role in the video is not a marketing ploy.
The video shows the beauty queen, Laura Archbold, frolicking on the paradisaical beaches of San Andres island, dressed in a bright orange bikini.
“I wasn’t thinking about marketing strategies; it just happened naturally,” the pop star insisted.
Just as naturally, Vives met Telo, the Brazilian with whom he recorded the duet, after performing at a festival in Santa Marta, where the pair reported discovered they had a lot in common.
Vives wrote songs for Telo’s new album, including “Como le gusta a tu cuerpo,” which also features on his own album.
The song is a fusion of traditional Colombian and Brazilian music, and director of the video Jessy Terrero explained that the purpose of the song is “to have fun and enjoy life, and I wanted to make sure the video showed a part of local Colombian culture.”
Vives said the record is “calmer” and full of “sentimental doubts,” relating to his home of Santa Marta, his family, and the “simple things in life” that inspire him to create traditional rhythms with a modern feel.
“It was made with everything that has been trapped inside my heart,” the singer said.
