Belgium shows keen business interests in Colombia

Belgium has shown a keen interest in strengthening economic relations with Colombia as 18 of its companies sign to attend Bogota’s Industrial Fair, reported business website Dinero.com.

At the Industrial Exposition in Bogota’s International Fair, which takes place October 1-5, there will be 15 Belgian companies with exhibit stands in metalwork, industrialization and technology. Three others companies will send representatives to see what business opportunities Colombia has to offer.

The Belgian mission is to expand business interests in Colombia, further industrial relations and broaden negotiations on imports and exports.

Colombian trade opportunities with Belgium have increased following the 2009 promotion and protection of investments agreement and the free trade agreement between Colombia and the EU which was signed in March.

The Bogota Industrial Fair, in its 58th year, showcases Colombian domestic industry and provides a platform for exchanging innovations and expertise from the business sector worldwide. This year over 860 exhibitors will attend, including companies from nearly 50 countries.
