Australian visa office to open in Medellin, Colombia

by Melanie Bencosme July 16, 2014

The Australian government is set to open an office to process visas to Colombia on July 24, according to Colombia’s national ADN publication.

At the office in Colombia’s second largest city, Medellin, locals will be able to submit their applications in person and have their photo taken and fingerprints scanned.

According to Frank Cross, manager of Living Australia immigration agency, “The opening of the centers of Australian visa applications facilitate the application process for Colombian citizens,” providing for the first time in the country’s history a one-stop service for submitting applications and queries.

With the recent addition of an online application, Colombian citizens can also apply online at www.vivaaustralia.com.au.

The Department of Immigration and Border Protection will be located at the Mall of The East Point (Carrera 46 # 47-46), Local 6010, in the city’s center.

Office hours at the office of Medellin will be Monday through Friday from 9AM to 6PM.
